Savory Southern Cornbread

Ingredients:
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup AP flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
1 tsp kosher salt
1 ½ cups buttermilk
2 eggs
4 TBSP butter
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F. Melt butter in a 9-10 inch cast iron skillet over medium-low heat.
Place dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk to combine.
Make a well in the center and add eggs. Beat lightly with a fork or whisk.
Add buttermilk and melted butter, and stir to combine (return the skillet to medium-low heat while you stir).
Pour batter into hot skillet (it should sizzle).
Bake until golden-brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20-25 minutes.
Allow to cool in the skillet 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, cut into slices.
